Apart from the franchise fee and the potential contracts the players may have, it is possible to know how much each team will earn.
1 million dollars is at stake in the PPL to be distributed among the different positions they hold in the various events.
Firstly, it should be clarified that the one million dollars are completely distributed among all the franchises. This will depend on the position they occupy after each week of competition.
As a reminder, each different date of the regular phase is a small championship that will earn them points and money towards the Final Cup.
Regular Season
During the regular phase, it is worth noting that all teams will receive a certain amount of money. In some cases, this amount may vary considerably depending on how well their team plays that week.
It is also worth noting that during the 4 matchdays of the regular season, the prizes will be the same in terms of quantity. However, there will be a significant jump in prizes in the Final Cup.
During the regular phase, exactly $155,000 will be distributed per week played. This amount will be completely distributed as follows:
The champion team of each regular phase will receive $35,000, while the runner-up team will receive a prize of $25,000.
One step below, the third-place team will have a reward of $20,000, while the fourth-place team will receive $15,000.
However, everyone will receive some cash prize, as from fifth to tenth place, they will receive $60,000, or in other words, $10,000 per team between these positions.
The Final Cup
In the Final Cup, we will have a different format. Instead of 10 teams, there will only be 8.
In this format, everything will be different. Apart from the teams, the cash prize received for qualifying will be the same as if you were a finalist in the regular phase.
This is something many players also seek because they know that economically, with so many trips, the year can become very long.
Nevertheless, the Final Cup, among only 8 teams, will distribute more than double, specifically, $380,000. This prize will be distributed with $25,000 for the teams that finish between fifth and eighth place.
However, qualifying for the semifinals changes a lot, as there will be a prize of $50,000 for the fourth-placed team and $60,000 for the third-placed team. This change is at least double for the teams that reach this stage.
Still, the biggest prizes are found in the second-placed team, which will receive $70,000. However, the ultimate winner of the Pro Padel League will receive a sum of $100,000.
These prizes are spread over 5 events and are for each franchise to decide how to distribute, but what cannot be denied is the economic infrastructure they have made available as prizes.
This helps spread paddle to other countries, which, hopefully, would not be necessary, but it is a risk we must assume if we want internationalization and recognition in paddle.
